You mentioned that in the past, you've had some high-risk pregnancies. You've had 32 and 34-week deliveries. You've had helps with preeclampsia. If you get pregnant again, you should definitely see a high-risk doctor. High-risk doctors during pregnancy are called obstetricians. To find one in your area, simply do an internet search and pull up ones near you. If you'd like, you can call the office, even go into a few and get acquainted with the front desk staff. Talk to them about your history and then decide which one fits your needs best. Once you start to go see your obstetrician once you're pregnant, if they decide that an additional specialist is needed, they will refer you to one. In some cases, patients go to perinatologists and they are experts on moms and babies while you're pregnant. But again, a referral is only needed to them if your obstetrician feels like it's necessary. An obstetrician should be able to handle obstetrical emergencies. If you have any other questions for me, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/intermountainmoms and recommend us to your friends and family, too.
