In this short conversation, President Richard Nixon calls his wife First Lady Pat Nixon to inform her that his National Security Advisor, Henry Kissinger, was returning from the Paris peace talks with an agreement ending combat between US and North Vietnamese troops. He also asks her to tell their daughters, Julie and Tricia, the news, and he notes that he will be making an announcement about it that night. Pat Nixon was the only person he called (on a recorded line, at any rate) to inform beforehand about this significant agreement.
