ARMS is coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate! Later this year, the first character from Fighter’s Pass 2 will be someone from Nintendo’s other fighting franchise. We just don’t know who it is yet, or anything about them.

The fascinating thing about ARMS is, Nintendo always wanted to including a character from this game in Smash. They very nearly made it into Smash Bros Ultimate, before being shelved. This is a character that’s several years in the making, and it’ll be interesting to learn more about them, but for the moment, the best we can do is recount the history of why ARMS didn’t come to Smash sooner.

Apologies for potentially ruining your escapism. We really had wanted to avoid talking about the state of the world on the channel. If it’s any consolation, we don’t do it again unless it’s relevant to the history lesson we’re recounting.

In the meantime know that our family is safe. We’re all together and we’re happy and healthy. We hope you are too.

It remains to be seen what timeframe we’ll be looking at for the rest of the fighters in Fighter’s Pass 2. We know that the ARMs character has been promised for June, but no matter how certain Nintendo might be about this, release dates are subject to change.

This year could end up being really quiet for gaming in general. Maybe we’ll get lucky and some big indie hit will arrive that will distract us all for a while.


As for the rest of the Smash Bros DLC fighters? Who knows? At least one has been postponed indefinitely, so that’s a shame. For now, we have to play the waiting game.
