Small industrial projects in pose unique challenges to the project team and little guidance is available concerning their front end planning. This plenary session from the 2015 CII Annual Conference introduced a new tool, the Project Definition Rating Index (PDRI) for Small Industrial Projects (PDRI-SIP), and provided a comparison between this tool and the previous industrial PDRI tool.
The presentation discussed unique planning issues related to small industrial projects, along with an overview of the critical front end planning success factors. The speaker, Brad Lynch (TransCanada Corporation), addressed which industrial PDRI tool is best for a situation, based on specific project characteristics.
