For a well known Irish song there's very little info on this, no writing credits though it's not traditional and this seems to be the earliest recording. Sean Mooney is another mystery, a superb tenor he is accompanied 'just' by a trio leaving his vocals out there with no place to hide. There are 4 other recordings by him on discogs, 'Kevin Barry', 'Sean South Of Garryowen' released on a green vinyl 45 rpm with the usual blue label. 'Are You There, Moriarty' and 'My Father's Cabin' both back with this recording but no information at all about the man.
The song is taken from an Irish immigrants viewpoint in Australia dreaming for Irish landmarks, people and places appearing on his new home halfway across the world.
There is an American song written in about 1913/14 with many of the same parts of Ireland transported to America titled 'If They'd Only Move Old Ireland Over Here'. This therefore appears to be an adaptation.
