These universities are globally recognized. University ranking is determined by certain criteria. There are designed features and methods for deciding the best universities. For this video, the “EduRank” list for 2024 was used. Unlike the traditional academic ranking, they use the digital performance of educational institutions which also includes the impact of the schools academically and non-academically. Audience growth, web traffic, engagement and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are also criteria used. Top 50 universities in Africa ranked by EduRank based on research outputs, non-academic prominence, and alumni influence. The rankings are determined by analysing 24.5M citations received by 2.16M academic publications made by 1,104 universities from Africa, the popularity of 3,700 recognized alumni, and the largest reference database available.
