We're mostly interested in flexion & extension of the forearm at the elbow but let's have a look at all the muscles that cross the elbow joint and see where they run and what they do.
Of course we're going to be most interested in biceps brachii, brachialis, triceps brachii, and brachioradialisThere are many muscles found in the upper extremity. According to their position and also location within the upper limb, we can find 3 big groups of muscles. At the most distal end of the upper limb, you can find the muscles of the hand, responsible for various movements of the hand and wrist. A bit further up, you will then see the muscles defining the forearm. And you can find the muscles that we’re going to be talking about on this tutorial at the most proximal end of the upper limb, and these are the arm muscles.
1. Fascia of the upper limb
- Superficial and Deep
- Brachial fascia
2. Venous drainage
- Cephalic vein
- Basilic Vein
- Median cubital vein
3. Cutaneous innervation
- Dermatomal distribution
- Cutaneous nerves
