With a simple rag rug hook and a hessian backing you can hook looped rag rugs for your home that will look wonderfully decorative, and you never need waste another scrap of fabric!
Rag rugs are the best thing for anyone interested in sustainability and looking after our precious planet. Literally no fabric is out of bounds for use ... old towels, worn out sheets, leisure pants that have gone baggy at the knees ... all are perfect for rag rugs.
This is not a tutorial as such, just how I make mine.
For fun, I also show you two rag rug making gadgets I have from the 1940s - a time when it was important to use every fabric scrap since fabric was rationed.
