While exploring the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, a local let me in on a famous decades-old banh mi spot - Madam Win. Located in District 1, this hole-in-the-wall shop has been serving up its signature stuffed banh mi sandwiches for nearly 40 years. Madam Win's claim to fame is the nearly 1 lb loaf crammed full of fillings like pate, vegetables, and a secret sauce. At only $2 a sandwich, it's the best cheap eat in Saigon! I tried their famous banh mi and it completely blew me away. The flavors, textures, and overall taste were incredible. An iconic Saigon establishment, I rate Madam Win a perfect 10 out of 10!
