Today we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Matilda the Musical. It’s been in the West End for a decade! It started at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2010 and we did a video of ‘Quiet’ with Matildas around the world to mark the 10th year since the show first began. The show wouldn’t be complete without the rest of the revolting children, so this time I’ve invited Matilda’s classmates to take part in this year’s anniversary project to celebrate its 10th year in the West End.

I didn’t want to do one song only as there are a few different versions of ‘When I Grow Up’ online and there are so many great songs from the show, so I decided to do a medley of a few of them. The medley starts with an instrumental intro of ‘Quiet’ as that’s what we did last year. I wanted to make sure that every character has their own moment to shine, so I included ‘Revolting Children’ and ‘When I Grow Up’ in the selection. And of course, we have 10 Matildas to celebrate the 10th anniversary, so we certainly can’t miss out ‘Naughty’.

We have maggots from the West End, UK & Ireland Tour and International Tour in this medley. It’s taken almost two months for us to put this together. Matilda has always been my favourite show and to be able to do this video with the cast of Matilda is a true honour for me. Thank you for being part of this maggots! We have decided to release this an hour earlier than usual so that those at the theatre can watch it before the show starts. Hope you enjoy this video and all the celebrations today.
