San Polino makes some great Brunello di Montalcino’s from biodynamically farmed vineyards located southwest of the medieval town of Montalcino. It is a small family-run farm. Respecting tradition and the environment is very important to owner Luigi Fabbro, who uses permaculture and biodynamic-organic farming to grow his vines and exclusively farms the sangiovese. He has made a 100-point San Polino Brunello di Montalcino Helichrysum 2010 and a 99-point San Polino Brunello di Montalcino 2010. Production is tiny with only a few hundred cases of each wine made.
