Iran soccer fans protested with slogans and waved banners declaring "Women, Life, Freedom" outside World Cup stadiums in Qatar on Friday in a show of support for widespread anti-government demonstrations back home.

Fans waving the official Iranian flag tried to drown them out with their own chants, one of them wearing a T-shirt printed with a picture of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Qassem Soleimani.

"This is about human rights. They take our very basic human rights away and they are killing us on the street just for asking for freedom. I think this is not politics, this is just basic human rights that we want from the world," one of the protesters, who didn't give her name, said.
