We both feel that Lee-Enfield rifle design peaked with the No. 4 series. Compact, with a brilliant ghost-ring rear sight (strangely abandoned for more than two decades, after the Enfield P14 of WWI), it shoots smoothly and with great accuracy. This 1942 example of the Mk. 1*, purchased from Vasily's brother, was manufactured at the Long Branch factory in Ontario. It was the standard firearm of the Canadian Rangers until well into the 21st century, prized for its rugged reliability in extreme-weather conditions (see [ Ссылка ]).
