2010 is one of the rare years when the Orthodox Easter celebrations coincide with the Catholic and Protestant festival. The last time that happened was back in 1942. Nearly three quarters of the Russian population are Orthodox Christians and the faith has been experiencing a renaissance since the collapse of communism.
