The SITC Primer on Tumor Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy From Biology to Treatment™ took place on June 1, 2012, leading into the 2012 ASCO Annual Meeting. This half day educational program was designed for community oncologists and other oncology health care professionals, working directly with patients, who wished to solidify their understanding of recent advances and the biologic basis of tumor immunology and immunotherapy. The SITC cancer immunotherapy primer provided a framework of basic to advanced immunology principles and an understanding of how these concepts translate into the clinic and fit together to create positive patient outcomes.
