This is the third in a series of videos designed to help guitar players understand how to read standard music notation. In this lesson, I’ll introduce basic rhythms: quarter, half, dotted half, and whole notes and rests, ties, and time signatures. I’ll also show you a counting system that will be useful for figuring out how to play more complex rhythms. Although this series is intended for guitar players, these rhythms apply to all musicians.
