This supplemental video shows the courtship displays and songs of three hummingbird species: the endangered Chilean Woodstar, the Peruvian Sheartail, and the Oasis Hummingbird. All three species perform shuttle displays and dives, and produce sounds with their tails during their dives. They were filmed in Sept. 2010 in far northern Chile (Azapa and Vitor valleys). This video is a supplement to a scientific paper published in the Condor 2013 V 115 560-577. All of the videos and sounds used in this video have also been deposited in the Macaulay Library.
