Meteora is a travel destination in Greece that you should visit with breathtaking landscape and ancient monasteries.
Etymologically, “Meteora” (Μετέωρα in Greek) means “suspended in the air.”
Visiting monasteries in Meteora:
While temperatures can get painfully high in Greece, especially in summer, you’ll still need to cover your legs and shoulders if you want to visit the Meteora monasteries. Women must wear a skirt and men must wear pants.
Meteora is located near the town of Kalabaka at the northwestern edge of the Plain of Thessaly near the Pineios river and Pindus Mountains.
We spent 2 nights and 3 days in Meteora. Watch this video and full and see other places we visited in Meteora and the surrounding areas in Kalabaka (ot Kalambaka)
