Fly By Night is the first Rush album with drummer Neil Peart and it's the last Rush album before the band went in a more progressive rock direction, making this album a very unique entry in the Rush discography.

The title track is one of the more "poppy" sounding tracks on the album but it is still an absolute classic. The guitar solo fits the classic stadium rock sound the band was going for.

Alex Lifeson is a very unique guitar player who was able to transform his guitar style to fit the changing trends in music. He sounds like a completely different guitar player on the 80's Rush records.
