3. Triphala powder – Triphala powder is most common ayurvedic remedy. When used as a mouth wash, research shows that it is as equally effective as prescription mouthwashes in preventing plaque, gingivitis, bad breath and inhibiting bad bacteria.
4. Himalayan Pink Salt – Salt is a cheapest antibacterial and anti-cavity home remedy. It fights off gingivitis and bleeding gums
5. Baking soda – Baking soda has ability to remove dental plaque and prevents cavities. Also, it helps to naturally get teeth whitening. Baking soda can be abrasive when used as tooth powder, but when used as mouthwash it is very safe and not abrasive.
Procedure:
1. In a glass jar, add 2 tablespoon of ground cloves.
2. Now toss in 1 tablespoon of Cinnamon powder.
3. Add 1/2 tablespoon of Triphala Powder. Triphala powder is one ayurvedic remedy that has numerous benefits.
4. Add 1 tablespoon of Himalayan Pink Salt. If you don’t have pink salt, you can also add regular salt.
5. Now add ¼ teaspoon of baking soda. Don’t add more, you just need quarter teaspoon.
Mix all of them together and store it. It remains good for upto 3 months.
Now, every time you want to do mouth wash, take a ½ cup of water. Add ½ teaspoon of this powder. Feel free to take less amount if it is strong for you. Heat it up slightly. I am using microwave to heat it up, you can also boil the water on the stove on low heat simmer.
Now, we prepared Mouthwash Tea. Keep it aside and let it cool down to lukewarm temperature. Once the temperature is slightly warm, use it as mouthwash. Let’s see how to use this.
After you eat food, for about 15 to 30 minutes, the saliva keeps doing the job of digestion and cleaning away the acidic surface on teeth. During this time, we should not do mouthwash and we should let the saliva do its job.
After about 30 mins of having a meal, take a sip of this mouthwash, swish & rinse all over the mouth for 1 minute and spit it away. Do this 2 or 3 times every day
