Storing your canna is an excellent way to ensure that your tropical looking plants survive in your garden year after year. Remove your canna from the ground divide them if necessary. Cut off the excess foliage and allow the rhizomes to dry and store in a dark cool area until the following season. Check your canna bulbs monthly or so and remove any bulbs that may start to rot. If you find that more than a few are rotting, you may want to find a drier place to store your bulbs.
