Dr. Dustin Moody of NIST provides the latest information on the vetting of cryptographic algorithms designed to resist attacks by large scale quantum computers. These types of quantum computers do not exist today, but they are expected to exist in the future. Due to the time it takes to implement cryptographic changes, work has been under way for several years to identify candidate algorithms. X9 develops standards for the U.S. financial industry and these standards include cryptographic standards. This presentation was given on September 7, 2023.
