Nature-based solutions to climate change – when natural ecosystems are restored to sequester carbon – have gained significant political traction recently, given that they could provide around 30% of the global cost-effective mitigation required by 2030 to limit warming to below 2°C. This concept can seem abstract when in policy and political debates, but this webinar brings nature-based solutions to life, with conservation practitioners sharing examples of exemplar nature-based solutions across UK landscapes, with a particular focus on peatlands, woodlands and coasts. It reveals how significant climate change mitigation and adaptation benefits can be achieved alongside biodiversity conservation, right here in the UK.
This webinar is part of RPSB’s Nature-based Solutions in Action webinar series, and was held on September 9th 2020.
