Antonia noticed she was losing her hearing at the age of 26 and was diagnosed with presbycusis. She was then equipped with conventional hearing aids, but the noise heard was uncomfortable and bothering. After wearing the hearing aid for a while Antonia's hearing almost completely deteriorated and her doctor then suggested a cochlear implant.
Now Antonia is able to hear her grandson, her own footsteps and many other sounds that were forgotten until now.
