Incredible marbled and delicious pork! Iberico pork, also known as Iberian pork, is a highly prized and sought-after type of pork that comes from the Iberian pig breed. This breed is native to the Iberian Peninsula, which includes both Spain and Portugal. The pigs are raised primarily in the southwestern regions of Spain, such as Extremadura, Andalusia, and parts of Portugal.
What makes Iberico pork so special and unique is the way the pigs are raised and their diet. Traditionally, these pigs are free-range and allowed to roam in vast oak forests, known as "dehesas," where they have plenty of space to forage for acorns and other natural foods. The diet of acorns, herbs, and roots gives the pork its distinctive flavor and marbling, making it incredibly tender and flavorful.
