We have a few things that need to get done today. With the dry summer, we are running short on hay for our dry cows and heifers so we are buying some hay from Alan's parents. Our cow June is in heat and needs to get bred. Last but not least, we have to dry off Zelda. Zelda is actually not due until June 4th, but she had a fairly long lactation, and has finally dropped so much in milk that it doesn't pay to keep milking her right now. So Alan will walk you through the steps of drying her off. Her maternity leave starts today!
