Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel said on his verified Instagram handle that the only way to a fruitful marriage is total submission on the part of the wife. He said that until this is in place, every other thing she tries to do will be out of place. He went on to say that a woman who refuses to submit to her husband is disobeying God and that as a woman, you might even be a minister of the gospel and your husband is not, the word of God still says to submit yourself to him as a submissive woman is precious in the sight of her husband. Ephesians 5:22
Daddy Freeze in a quick retort via Instagram, countered this, saying that the Bishop's position sounded more like slavery than marriage because submission goes both ways and is not to be reserved for women alone but for both the husband and the wife.
During Sunday service, Pastor David Ibiyeomi, founder and General Overseer of Salvation Ministries called Daddy Freeze a bastard and warned him never to insult Bishop David Oyedepo again.
