Pooka
Pooka, pronounced poo-ka, derives from the old Irish word 'PCA,' which means 'goblin.' There are numerous spelling variations for Pooka, including Pca, Plica, Phuca, Puka, Pwwkaand Pookha, all of which are perfectly acceptable. Pooka may derive from the Scandinavian words Pook or Puke, which mean "nature spirit." A Pooka is indeed a shapeshifter who can assume any form it desires. It usually appears as a horse, dog, hedgehog, goat, goblin, or an older man. A Pooka is traditionally portrayed as a dark, stylish horse with a long, wild flowing mane and luminescent golden eyes.
One thing to remember about just a Pooka seems to be that they will have the power of the human speech and, when inclined, do significant athletics of those they converse with by embellishing the truth. The Pca appears to become the most fear-inducing Faerie in Ireland, possibly because it would seem only at night and enjoys causing havoc and mischief. We believe this is unfair to the Pooka because there have been no documented instances of a Pooka causing harm to a human.
