The wealth of Moria was not in gold or jewels, the toys of the Dwarves; nor in iron, their servant... Its worth was ten times that of gold, and now it is beyond price; for little is left above ground, and even the Orcs dare not delve here for it.”'...All folk desired it. It could be beaten like copper, and polished like glass; and the Dwarves could make it a metal, light and yet harder than tempered steel. Its beauty was similar to that of common silver, but the beauty of Mithril did not tarnish or grow dim.”
A metal as precious as a diamond and as much demanded as the last thing in middle earth. It’s the kind of metal that holds immense value not only for its beauty and rarity but also for its unique properties. It is so demanding that even the dark lord would go to any limit or any place just to have it in the palm of his hand. And he had deep and multifaceted reasons for coveting this particular metal.
So why did the dark lord want it so bad? And what exactly did he want to do with it?
