What’s the difference between standard nutrition and functional nutrition
Standard nutrition focuses on nutritional facts of food and is generalized to how it affects the health of everyone. Functional nutrition is similar to standard nutrition but is a more detailed diet plan for an individual's lifestyle. A food item categorized as "good for you" doesn't necessarily mean it is suitable for you. Your bio-individuality might need something more or to eliminate a food item, typically categorized as 'healthy' because it reacts to your body differently than it would for someone else.
They slow down the metabolism.
If you want to lose weight, you may think you need to eat low-calorie foods, but having a calorie-deficient diet can drastically slow down your metabolism. A study on the metabolisms of those who followed low-calorie diets found that individuals gradually lost weight. When you restrict your calorie intake, your body overcompensates by reducing your metabolism to get the most out of those calories.
The weight loss is not permanent.
A significant issue with diets is that they aren't a long-term solution. When you try a new diet plan for a few months and lose 20 pounds, you feel good and in shape, but if you return to your regular eating routine, you’ll start putting on the same amount of weight again.
These plans also cause overeating.
