The East African Community has officially welcomed its seventh member state, the Democratic Republic of Congo. That adds at least 90-million people to the Bloc, now totaling 280 million residents of the East African Community. Other member states include Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and South Sudan.
