KOSHARI - National dish of Egypt. This is also one of many Egyptian street foods favorite, which I love. I try to make here my own version and it is really delicious. Cravings for KOSHARI satisfied. You will also love the combination of flavors and texture of this dish.
Ingredients to make KOSHARI:
2 cups rice (Egyptian rice, Jasmine rice, Basmati) I used Basmati for this recipe
8 onions
4 cloves of garlic
dried coriander leaves
coriander powder
salt and pepper to taste
oil for frying
SPICY TOMATO SAUCE:
4 tomatoes grind
4 tomatoes for saute
2 onions
4 cloves of garlic
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1 tbsp ground cumin seeds
1 tbsp coriander
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp vinegar
TOPPINGS:
spicy tomato sauce
chickpeas
fried onions
