The lost MG D GT was a British Leyland concept from 1970, replacing the evergreen MG B with a radical mid-engine, rear-drive coupe with a wedge shape body, an Austin Maxi-based engine, and Hydrolastic suspension. Had it been launched, it may have been the world's first truly affordable mid-engine sports car.
