Ukrainian Armed Forces published on Sunday (July 30) video which it said showed Ukrainian troops striking Russian howitzer, self-propelled artillery unit and communications infrastructure in the Donetsk region.
Reuters was able to confirm the location of three clips in the video by terrain and road layout which matched satellite imagery of the area. Reuters was not able to independently verify the date the video was filmed.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy described Sunday (July 30) as "a good day, a powerful day" at the front, particularly near Bakhmut, where Ukrainian forces say they are retaking ground lost when Russian forces took the city in May.
Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar told national television the Russians' key task was to "divert our forces from the Bakhmut area, where we have a successful offensive."
Ukraine last month launched a counter offensive focusing on a southward campaign to drive a wedge between Russian forces holding territory in the east and the annexed Crimean peninsula, and on winning back ground around Bakhmut.
