Fuji Five Lakes (富士五湖, Fuji-goko) is the name of the area located at the base of Mount Fuji in the Yamanashi Prefecture of Japan.
Kawaguchi-ko, one of the Five Lakes of Fuji, is one of the World Heritage Sites registered as "Fujisan, sacred place and source of artistic inspiration".
"ko" means lake in Japanese. For example, "A-ko" is "lake A"
Lake Kawaguchi is located in one of the Fuji Five Lakes, the second from the east. It has been developed as a tourist destination due to its easy access to railroads and highways, and is crowded with many vacationers.
