In this dramatization, the fundamental disagreement between the Hamiltonian and Jeffersonian visions of America's future are clear. In addition to the deep political divide between elitists and democrats, the economic debate that emerged in the 1790s demonstrated that the Internal Revolution would continue to rage on until some kind of consensus might emerge.
