In Excel, you sometimes need to add leading zeros, but the zeros keep disappearing. For instance, consider the number 00256. Zipcodes, security numbers, and employee IDs are all examples of this. However, if you've ever tried to input something similar in Excel, you'll immediately see that Excel eliminates leading zeros from numbers automatically.
