It’s 100 years since one of the most poignant stories of World War One, and one of the most important events in Westminster’s history: the burial of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey.
To mark the centenary, we’ve come together with the Military Wives Choirs to retell the story of the Unknown Warrior - a fallen serviceman who, rank, regiment and origin unknown, was returned from the battlefields of France as a symbol of all those lost in war.
As part of the collaboration, the Military Wives Choirs have also reimagined ‘Abide with Me’, one of two tracks that survived experimental recording at the burial to become the first electrical recordings ever sold to the public.
