Do you have 7z files that you need to open on your Windows PC? 7z is an archive file format that uses high compression ratios to make files smaller. In this video, I show you two easy ways to open and extract 7z files in Windows - using File Explorer and the free 7-Zip program.

First, I demonstrate how to open 7z files without any additional software. Windows 11 have built-in support for some archive formats, including 7z. Just double click on a 7z file in File Explorer to extract it. However, this doesn't work for password protected archives.
Next, I install the open-source 7-Zip utility for more robust 7z file handling. 7-Zip can open and extract all kinds of 7z files, including those with encryption and multi-volume splits. I show you how to integrate 7-Zip into File Explorer's context menu for quick access. You can also use the main 7-Zip interface to view and extract any type of archive.
Follow along as we simplify the process, ensuring that you can efficiently manage and access your 7z files hassle-free. Don't forget to like this video, subscribe to our channel, and hit the notification bell to stay updated on more tech tutorials!
