HNC Cello Archive: Han-Na Chang at The Award Ceremony of the Fifth Rostropovich International Cello Competition (1994)
In October 1994, 11-year old Han-Na Chang entered the Fifth Rostropovich International Cello Competition in Paris in order to play for and meet the great cellist Mstislav Rostropovich.
She was awarded the First Prize and the Contemporary Music Prize unanimously by the jury led by Rostropovich.
This Award Ceremony was held on 16 October 1994 at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, France. The Awards were presented by Mstislav Rostropovich, the Chairman of the Jury, and Jacques Chirac, the Mayor of Paris at the time.
