H3N2 virus is a subtype of the Influenza A
virus, which is a highly contagious respiratory illness that can cause severe illness and even death. The H3N2 subtype was first identified in 1968 and has been responsible for several outbreaks and epidemics since then, including the 2017-2018 flu season. H3N2 is known to mutate rapidly, which can make it more difficult to develop effective vaccines against it.
Symptoms of H3N2 infection are similar to those of other influenza viruses and may include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue.
Dr. Alok Gupta shares his valuable information about it.
