The Aerial 3D Displayis a laser plasma device by Burton that enables to create (true) 3D images in mid air.
Burton is planning on enabling polychromy in the next generation of Aerial 3D display, and is envisioning several uses for it such as advertisements and a new kind of fireworks.
The display device uses the plasma emission phenomenon near the focal point of focused laser light. By controlling the position of the focal point in the x, y, and z axes, it displays real 3D images constructed by dot arrays in the air.
Hardware specifications of the Aerial 3D Display:
Light source: 200MJ
Resolution: 1,000 points/sec.
Display volume: 3m*3m*3m
Power source: 200V
