More requests for assistance with ENS 2 Phase 2 preparations have been received, thus we are posting a video from our EU Customs Update of 9 December 2022, where we informed all participants about ICS 2 – Phase 2 and shared a plethora of materials for your reference and assistance.
Our 9 December 2022 update was a 4-hour training session for customs and global trade professionals. They got a consolidated, crisp update on the legal, policy, and practical changes coming up in the European Union, so they can comply better, save more and trade faster. One part was about ICS 2 Phase 2.
WHAT IS ICS 2 Phase 2?
As you may know, facilitating risk-based customs regulations, the EU's new advanced cargo information system, Import Control System 2 (ICS2), aims to protect European individuals and the single market. Operators are required to complete the ENS dataset for all flying cargo. In addition to preloading filing requirements, all items transported by air in postal, express, and general cargo shipments will be subject to pre-arrival ENS data obligations.

***** MORE ON ICS 2 End-to-End (E2E) TESTING CAMPAIGN
The EU has designed an ICS 2 End-to-End (E2E) testing campaign to execute the ICS2 business workflow in a way that is as close as possible to real business operations, to ensure that the IT system of the economic operators are functioning properly. The E2E testing is designed to ensure that the economic operators’ IT systems are in working order before they start performing the safety and security checks required by the ICS2 process. Each Member State can choose whether to execute the E2E testing campaign. However, doing so is strongly recommended, as this will increase assurance for Member States and economic operators before the go-live on 1 March 2023.
