The Volkonsky dolmen is the world's only full-size monolithic dolmen, that is, its chamber is completely carved into a sandstone rock through a small entrance hole. Located at the bottom of a river valley in the village of Volkonka (Greater Sochi region) not far from the Novorossiysk - Sochi highway (part of the A147 highway). A popular tourist attraction, protected by the state. Carved into a shapeless rock mass by sampling the softer inner component of the monolith. The facade is designed in the form of a tiled dolmen portal. The inlet is practically intact. The inner chamber has a domed (hemispherical) shape about 1.5 meters high with a flat floor. The walls of the chamber are not sanded, the chamber may not have been completed. The floor has a depression near the entrance, which may have been beaten by treasure hunters. The dolmen plug is absent. From the rear, the dolmen has one hemispherical hole, thus, at the same time, being a ritual cup stone. Not far from this hole, on the slope of the gorge, there is a spring - an outlet of hydrogen sulfide mineral water.
