Partners from Italy, Portugal and Spain train professionals from the fields of health and education. Their goal: teaching 3D printing to people with disabilities for everyday and professional tasks, thus improving social inclusion. Why is it relevant? In the EU, 1 in 4 adults has some type of disability. Unemployment in this group is 50%, and 50% are at risk of social exclusion. 52% of people living with disabilities feel discriminated against (Eurostat, 2019).
Therefore, we emphasize in our Project that 3D designing and printing can be learned. Everyone can participate in it according to his or her possibilities. 3D-printed objects are precisely adapted to individual needs. Trying out, seeking help, succeeding in printing and sharing the results with others - that is the true philosophy of makers, with or without any disability.
3D Prints (3D Practice to Raise Inclusion with Technological Skills) is a European Project participating in Small-scale partnerships in vocational education and training.
