In 1982 Kenrick Tucker set the ignition for me to want to start cycling after his Commonwealth Games success. He was my first sporting idol.
The LA Olympics in 1984 and Teams Pursuit win took it to another level and within 12 months I was off and racing. After the sprint Gold and Silver was won by the US team at those Games the flamboyant Nelson Vails flew down to Australia for this showdown between two greats of sprinting in that era.
