Decentralisation is a hot topic in Government right now, and there's no reason why the headquarters of key agencies such as the NSW Rural Fire Service couldn't be relocated in a rural area.
Without asking what the public wanted, Emergency Services Minister Troy Grant decided to move the RFS several kilometres down the road but keep it in the heart of Sydney.
Currently the RFS is located in Carter Street, Lidcombe and is to be relocated to Murray
Rose Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park – a short distance away.
This inquiry will give people a chance to have their say. Do you want your Rural Fire Service kept in Sydney or moved to a rural area?
