Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is contemplating the replacement of all ministers from the Liberal Democratic Party faction, which was formerly headed by former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. This decision is being considered due to a string of political fundraising scandals. Sources familiar with the situation revealed this information on Sunday.
According to sources, Kishida has made the decision to dismiss Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno due to his suspected inability to register a significant amount of money received as part of fundraising activities for the ruling party's main faction.
Economy, Trade, and Industry Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura is confronted with comparable accusations. In addition to the ministers, Kishida is anticipated to remove all senior vice ministers and legislative vice ministers affiliated with Abe's side, according to the sources.
The list comprises not only Matsuno, the chief government spokesman, and Nishimura, but also two additional ministers, five senior vice ministers, and six legislative vice ministers from Abe's side.
According to sources, Kishida is expected to choose the appropriate timing to make changes to his cabinet after the conclusion of the current extraordinary legislative session on Wednesday. There is increasing pressure to replace Matsuno promptly, as he conducts press conferences twice daily throughout the week.
