Here are a few ways to SAVE $$$$ on Gear and apparel!
Shop Renewed or Second Hand or try renting.
Patagonia has the Worn wear program featuring used gear fully which has been re-crafted. They have everything from minor patches to new zippers and you can even trade in old Patagonia gear for credit to the shop
REI also has an online used gear shop so if you’re a member of the REI COOP you can find even better deals on apparel, sleeping bags, tents and more. They also just launched a trade in program so you can send back your old gear and upgrade to something new.
The Northface also has a renewed program, selling a mix of apparel that has been refurbished from returns, damaged or defective items and they all come with a 1 year warranty. You can find clothing, chalk bags and kids apparel in the North face renewed shop.
Gear Trade is a high end consignment site where you can sell or buy lightly used gear, and we’re taking everything from ski boots to kayaks and outdoor apparel.
Similar to Gear Trade @Isella is a gear consignment store, that focuses on diversity and they just launched a singles shop for all of us that need that one glove or trekking pole replacement.
And for a true second hand outdoor gear shop try Rerouted which has a great mix of inexpensive and like new hiking, skiing, climbing gear and apparel.
If heading out into the outdoors to camp or adventure is a one time thing you may also want to consider renting gear which you can do at many local mom and pop stores in the destination you are traveling or REI where you can grab a car camping or backpacking kit.
Another great site is Outdoors Geek which has a huge variety of tents and gear for all kinds of camping, backpacking and outdoor needs.
For new gear I love to shop at @decathlon which has lower prices than its name brand competitors and high quality gear for a variety of sports.
