One of the deadliest animals in history, the leopard of Panar took 400 human lives in remote villages of the Himalayan foothills, before being accounted for by Colonel Jim Corbett in the year 1910. An account of this hunt was later penned by Jim Corbett in the story of the Panar Man-Eater (1954).
